Hôtel Apollinaire Nice

Great hotel, presumably recently refurbished as all the furnishings were in good condition, well-maintained and housekeeping did a good job of refreshing bathroom towels and toiletries. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of wardrobe hanging space, fridge (handy wee shop over the road to top up with beers/wine) and of course a safe! Lovely open lounge, breakfast room and outdoor terrace available, with plenty of parasols to ensure a comfortable Al-fresco breakfast. Breakfast choice was a typical continental but decent range including cold meats/ cheese and bacon/scrambled eggs with omelette on request. All open spaces were bright and corridor carpets clean. This is a very welcoming hotel with helpful, courteous staff at reception, breakfast and servicing rooms. Situated very close (3 mins) to Durandy Tram station which is directly linked to the airport in 20/25 mins. 10/15 mins walk to the main Nice Train station for direct trains to coastal route to Monte Carlo (stop at Eze beach - narrow and pebbly but clean or Ville-Franche for a beach club with chargeable daybeds and paddle boards). Hotel is very close - 10 mins walk through the lively, busy old town to Promenade des Anglais for your evening stroll to people watch. But if that’s too busy there are plenty of good quality restaurants closer to the hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. Hotel Apollinaire was a great find - close enough to everything but not on top of the action!

The bathroom was very spacious. Interior was simple but very functional and the room was very clean. Housekeeping did a good job of tidying every day and we were never disturbed. The air conditioning works very well to keep your room cool and the rooms are quite during the night. The staff is very friendly and polite! The location allows you walk to old town and beach or you can conveniently take public transport. The TV supports casting and the WiFi works very well.

1. The location is excellent. Near shopping and restaurants, the Coulée verte, the Old Nice, Cimiez, etc. 2. The lobby, the bar, and the breakfast rooms are clean, comfortable, and cozy. 3. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of hot and cold dishes, baskets of croissants, baguettes, beignets, pain au chocolat, platters of meats, cheese, and bowls full of marmalades, fruits, nuts, and cereals. 4. The entire staff (receptionists, barman, breakfast staff, maids...) was OUTSTANDING. 5. The air conditioning worked beautifully. 6. The beds in the room were comfortable, and as soon as I requested them, the maid brought extra pillows, an iron, and an ironing board. 7. The reading lights were great.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Apollinaire. The staff were super accommodating. The hotel is incredibly modern with USB sockets negating the need for a travel adaptor. We had requested a shower and this request was met. You can book the Wellness Room for an hour during your stay at no additional cost which I would highly recommend. Great location for those looking to travel via train into Monaco, Cannes and the likes. Short walk to the Promenade des Anglais. The tram is very handy when travelling from the airport.
